== Description ==
Imploding stars or “Supernovas” are the inspiration for this spectacular composition for percussion ensemble. A star such as the sun is an essential source of energy to man and earth. A symbol of light and joy, it is musically depicted as the beginning of new life. Yet a star is also a mysterious globe of fire ruled by nuclear fusions, eruptions and solar winds. It can implode or fade out at any time. Solar wind, big bangs, a sunrise. Suddenly the romantic starry sky has to make room for the danger of the unknown. A supernova’s explosion produces a source of sparkling light with the force of billions of suns, dominating the sky. However beauty and threat never lie far apart. The spectator is carried away into a mystic universe of icy emptiness, shooting stars and bright sunlight. Unpredictable and infinite like the cosmos, the piece ends in a mysterious black hole.
