== Description ==<br />
The Power Of Unity: Zodiac Story was commissioned by Defying Gravity Percussion and its director Tim White OAM, premiering live at Defying Gravity's Dream Garden series of concerts in April and May 2024. I was asked to present four of my own works - a new multi-percussion solo TEN, a new massed marimba chorale Song From The Heart, my popular large ensemble work Beautiful World... Of Dreams And Wonder... and a new solo feature work, which is The Power Of Unity: Zodiac Story. The Power Of Unity is a percussion sextet that uses programmatic-style to depict the ancient folk story of the origin of the Chinese zodiac calendar and its animals. Colloquially referred to as 'The Great Race', the story details a running race of animals hosted by the Jade Emperor to determine the order of the animals on the calendar.<br />
