The piece depicts the feelings related to being back together with friends, colleagues, and family after the devastation of the Covid-19 pandemic. There are elements of worry, uncertainty, and longing in the music, but the piece is ultimately happy, celebratory, and joyous. T.A.L. is a percussion ensemble consisting of eight performers. The music is at the advanced –level and is composed in the “Flamenco” style. It features a solo marimba throughout the song along with some marimba soli interludes. The cajón is an integral part of this style of music.
