The title means We will see each other again, which refers to the mobilization and departure of the soldiers to the front. The soldiers&#039; families don&#039;t know when they will return - whether they will even return, or whether they will meet again in heaven. The best-known version of the song is by Forces Sweetheart Dame Vera Lynn, but it has also been covered by: others The Byrds, Rod Stewart and Johnny Cash. Vera Lynn was also the leading actress in the 1943 film of the same name (We&#039;ll Meet Again), in which the song could of course be heard. The song has been used more often in films and television series such as Dr. Strangelove, The Singing Detective and more recently Stranger Things.
