Program Notes
The title is both a request and a directive. Intentional, initially brief, pauses of reflection, becoming increasingly longer periods of calm over time, interweaving and contrasted by bursts of tension throughout. A simple, repeated petition and constant goal. Commissioned by Dr. Brian West and the Texas Christian University Percussion Orchestra for the 2022 Percussion Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) Indianapolis, Indiana. - Notes by the composer
