Autumn by Andrea Venet is a medium-advanced marimba solo that develops four-mallet technique through a series of flowing, interconnected musical ideas. The solo focuses heavily on lateral stroke development, beginning with passages that combine double vertical and double lateral strokes before expanding into triple strokes and more advanced combinations. As the piece progresses, both hands take on increasingly independent roles, culminating in passages where continuous lateral motion drives the musical line.
