At the age of 10, Marco Onstenk took his first steps in the music world at the music association Oefening Leidt Tot Ontwikkeling (OLTO) in his native village of Loenen. After his education at the local music association, he started percussion training at the Conservatory in Arnhem at the age of 17. The percussion lessons/masterclasses were given by G. Bomhof, R. Stotijn, M. Komst and P. Prommel. In 1996, Marco Onstenk graduated DM (Teaching Musician). As a freelance performing musician Marco Onstenk played or plays with the Gelders Orchestra, the Brabant Orchestra, the Dutch Brass Ensemble and also with various wind orchestras such as the Gelders Fanfare Orchestra and further with ensembles of various instrumentation. In the light music field he played in various bands. As a percussion conductor Marco Onstenk has already achieved various successes such as 2x participation in the WMC, participation in top competitions and the Dutch Championship was achieved. Marco Onstenk is currently a teacher/conductor at the Barneveld Music School, Borne Music School, St. Gregorius Hertme and KNA Lunteren.
