Sean J. Kennedy is a dynamic drummer, percussionist, and educator whose versatility has made him a sought-after performer across jazz, classical, rock, and contemporary music scenes. Whether laying down the groove with The Gardyn Jazz Orchestra, locking in rhythms for the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale, or bringing energy to The Doc Severinsen Tribute Band, Sean’s adaptability is his signature.

His performance credits include major orchestras such as The Philly POPS!, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and Jacksonville Symphony, as well as performances alongside a wide range of artists including Lindsey Stirling, Roger Daltrey, Evanescence, Il Volo, Bob Mintzer and Warren Haynes. He’s graced legendary stages including Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, and Lincoln Center. The Philadelphia Inquirer praised his “intense and sometimes far-out live performances,” while the late Dave Brubeck remarked, “Your drumming sounds like it should; it swings!”

Sean is also a recording artist, author, and innovator. His ensemble, The Rolling Buzzards Brigade, features globally renowned percussionists and blends tradition with cutting-edge creativity. His educational work includes a TEDx Talk (“Happy Accidents: Drumming Up Serendipity”), teaching roles at Arcadia University and public schools, and books published by Alfred Music and Carl Fischer.
