A Flute in the Kingdom of Drums and Bells is based on the universal life cycle that Joseph Campbell identifies in his book "Hero With a Thousand Face". The flute is the protagonist in the piece. The unknown it enters is the wild and mysterious world of percussion. We will see this life cycle unfold musically and visually as the flutist moves from point to point on stage.
