Director Thomas A. Brown, an internationally-known conductor, ASCAP composer, clinician, author, educator, arranger and percussion artist, brings to the Eastern U.S. Music Camp 33 years of experience as director of music camps. He has been a music educator at the high school and college level for 34 years. Mr. Brown has received ASCAP's seventh Standard Award and his 35th Popular Award in recognition of internationally-performed recordings and compositions.

Mr. Brown has B.S. and M.S. degrees in music and has served on committees for the Music Educators National Conference, including the Tanglewood Symposium. He is an active clinician and solo percussion artist for Ludwig Industries, guest conductor and adjudicator for the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) and numerous festivals throughout the country. He has served on the faculties of Skidmore College, Union College, College of St. Rose, SUNY College of Albany, and Schenectady County Community College. His compositions, books and methods are published by Columbia Pictures, Belwin Mills Publishing Co., Southern Music Co., Alfred Publications, Kendor Music Co., Almitra Music, C.L. Barnhouse, Pro-Arts Publications, and MCA Publications.
