Marching Tenor Drums; With Tape

Program Notes

This solo combines rudimental percussion with electronic accompaniment to create an exciting, challenging, and rewarding experience for performer and audience alike. Written for a standard set of marching "quints", this up-tempo (mm=160) solo utilizes contemporary tenor drum playing techniques to make a recital piece for the advanced high school or college level student. Many intricate rhythms and "split" patterns must be carefully coordinated with the CD accompaniment in order to perform this work effectively. [1]
