Description

In the History of Man by Ben Wahlund is a duet for drum set and marimba. Intended for a recital / concert setting, this duet takes the performers and audience on a journey through many different styles and musical ideas (a musical representation of the different things man has encountered throughout time). This is a technically difficult piece to play and find the perfect balance between the marimba and drum set (which has a tendency to overpower other instruments), requiring two experienced percussionists.

Instrumentation

Player 1: 5 Octave Marimba
Player 2: Drum Set with Foot Mounted Cowbell
