Professor David Jarvis is the Coordinator of Percussion Studies at Washington State University and has performed internationally in both classical and jazz arenas. He is one of the members of Jazz Northwest (The WSU Faculty Jazz Group) and has traveled around the country giving workshops and clinics in jazz performance. He was principal timpanist with the Washington-Idaho Symphony for over 20 years and still the principal percussionist for the Oregon Coast Music Festival Orchestra. He is the co-founder/leader of the popular jazz group, the Dozier-Jarvis Trio in addition to co-member of the trumpet/percussion duo, Cameradschaft and specializes in solo literature written for percussion and electronic sound and has performed concerts all around the country. Mr. Jarvis is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and M.E.N.C. and an artist/clinician for the Yamaha Corporation. His compositional works are published by Southern Music Co., Honeyrock Publishing Co, and C. Alan Publications.
