Program Notes
Plasma is commissioned by Choshi High School in 2002. This was my first percussion ensemble. One of the members at that time was a very good drummer, so I decided to make the song a cool drum feature. I also made heavy use of irregular time signatures. After this experience I have often used irregular times. I think it is a dynamic and powerful song for eight percussionists.
