Performance Notes

Ran Kan Kan was composed by the late great “Tito Puente”, and was released in 1948. Known as “The Mambo King”, Tito Puente performed Ran Kan Kan all over the world. This composition continues to become one of Mr. Puente’s iconic works. His flashy artistic approach to performing on timbales his inspired many of great “timbaleros”. This percussion ensemble version of Ran Kan Kan showcases the timbales as well as providing a “soli” section for the entire keyboard ensemble. The piece also includes horn parts for additional energetic horn sections. If available, add the included vocals for performance. Ran Kan Kan makes for a great opener or closer to any concert. You will have the audience dancing in the aisles!
