Recital Piece for Solo Snare Drum by Guy Gauthreaux is meant to be enjoyable for both the drummer and the the audience. It travels through several different musical styles: jazz, latin, orchestral, rock and rudimental. A healthy dose of chops in all of these styles are needed for this solo. Smooth rolls, great timing, hand-to-hand independence, good open rolls, flam and drags, and more.
