Review
A very lyric work for 4 mallet unaccompanied Marimba solo, indicated to be performed "slowly and expressively". Those family with the widely played Mexican Dances" and "Etudes" of Gordon Stout will find this work to be of a considerably different character. It bears resemblance in style to the beautiful "Mist" movement of Alfred Fissinger's Suite of Marimba. Chords built in 4ths and dissonant intervals resolve or build in intensity to produce sonorities of expressiveness and beauty. A welcome addition to the repertoire of unaccompanied 4 mallet solo marimba literature by one of the emerging composers. - James Moore 1979[1]
