Program Notes

One of the most popular pieces for percussion ensemble ever written, Stained Glass has been performed by high school and university groups the world over since its premiere in 1994. It's one of 'the big ones', requiring a sizable ensemble of sizable talent.

Throughout three continuous movements, the ensemble players will find themselves dealing with a multitude of time signature changes, key changes, and very exposed parts that are all challenging to play accurately and musically - particularly for the xylophone player.
