Tanja Hafenstein graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University in 1996. In 2002 she completed intensive courses in Latin percussion in Cuba under master drummers Adel Gonzalez (Afro-Cuban All Stars) and Amadito Valdez (Buena Vista Social Club). Tanja has toured extensively nationally and internationally. She has been featured in leading percussion catalogues and magazines. Career highlights include playing with multi-Aria award winner Alex Lloyd, Vassy, Aria nominated world music group Tulipan, The Queensland Orchestra and as a tutor, performer, composer and arranger with the Queensland Ballet. Tanja has enjoyed guest appearances with The John Butler Trio and TV show Hot Source as well as numerous other performances on Rove, Channel V, The Aria Awards, Cold Live at the Chapel and musicals Lion King and Fame. Currently she enjoys performing with the Francis Wolves.

Tanja Hafenstein graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University in 1996.
