Please review the existence of Category:Percussion 12+ Works

____ Dear Ruby: Where I am from, the category exists for people to look for percussion ensemble works for 12 or more players... This is a necessary distinction to allow people to see all the works that include 12 or more players. It doesn't hurt anyone to have multiple ways to sort items. I am fine with keeping sub categories beyond 12 as you have been doing, but we can still have a sub category of all works and composers who have written works for 12 or more players. Thank you for understanding and leaving this category in place. Cheers!

There are 217 works under Percussion 12; 149 works under Percussion 13; 120 works under Percussion 14; 54 works under Percussion 15; 49 works under Percussion 16; 34 works under Percussion 17; 23 works under Percussion 18; 19 works under Percussion 19 and 47 works under Percussion 20+, it seems that is becoming more inconvenient for searching while putting them into same category.

I can see the benefits of having individual categories beyond 12 for all the reasons you suggest. For me, I like to see large lists of items to choose from when doing a random search, so the broad categories have as much use as more narrowed searches....ie: Composers - in general that is a way to see the broad picture while you can also narrow it down as you see fit by number of players, or many other ways. I will think about it a bit more, but I don't see a problem by having more ways to sort the data rather than fewer. And it fits a definite search criteria for the state festivals that I am catering to by having this particular sorting point.

In terms of composer category, there are many categories of different nationality, but you won't put a german composer into a european composer category. If so, I will agree to put a piece with 13 or more players under the category of 12+

-Are you associated with this group? It seems like this organization has begun using this wiki as part of their curriculum. Though I don't really have an issue with it, I have not been contacted by anyone from this organization to even introduce themselves or ask if this was ok for their company to piggyback on this site for their students. I have reached out in the past to contacts on their website and have had no response, I am just uncertain as to what is going on with all of these additions from their school. I was curious if you knew anything about it? There are a couple of logins that are associated with their content creation but nothing that has a name. Since I pay for the monthly hosting fees out of my own pocket, I am always curious who is using this site and for what purpose - especially if someone is making money off of this.
-If I don't hear back from you, I may end up deleting their content until I am able to make contact with their organization or representatives to see to-what-end their involvement is with this wiki and their school.

-I wanted to ask you to perhaps reach out to me to discuss category and other structural changes so that we are not creating inconsistencies in the wiki. For instance, I had the percussion ensembles capped at 12 and anything that was larger, just fit under 12+. I have seen that you added it up to 20+ now. I don't think that is a problem, but it is inconsistent with how the wiki has been setup and therefore work is being repeated and deleted and ultimately wasting each others time.

----Again I appreciate you working on the wiki, but there are many structural items that I have to go back and fix. Please feel free to add to the content, but any further structural changes I would be open to discussing - I have reached out to you many times and am glad that you are using the talk page to communicate now. Hopefully you can also help answer some of the other questions that I have proposed on here. Particularly about how this wiki is being used with the Royal Schools of Music?
-The 12 or more structure is important to those who are looking for ensembles greater than 12, but not pedantic enough to see 13-20. I am keeping your suggestion of having 13-20 then adding the +, but please leave the 12+ category alone as that is a search structure that I find useful. The beauty of the wiki is that it can have both...
