Description

When the percussion group Adrumaline from Barendrecht approached me with the question if I would like to write a piece for them, I didn't have to hesitate for long! I have known the group for quite some time because I had the privilege of contributing to the development of this motivated and close-knit group as a conductor for many years. Adrumaline is a welcome guest at local, national and international events because of their continuous appearance of enthusiasm, passion and fun.

The approach of this piece is to combine games for players of different levels. From simple to slightly spicy. I have not provided written solos in this piece to give the soloists the opportunity to incorporate their own musical style. When setting up, it also increases the effect to have the two different players of toms, cymbals and bass drum play in a wide stereo setup.

Important: I also wanted to make the piece playable for groups with a smaller cast. To this end, I merged two games into one three times, so that the minimum number of players required is not 12 people but 9 players! So I combined what was possible into one batch and are: - toms (3x)/snare drum 1 and 2 processed into one part,
- cymbals 1 and 2 combined, and
- bass drum 1 and 2 combined into one part.

This increases flexibility and I hope to meet the demand to keep this work playable for a slightly smaller cast. These combination parts are of course included as standard in this set. We wish you lots of playing and concert pleasure with 'Adrumaline'!
