DUET is a rudimental style composition for snare drum and tenor drum. Technical demands include rolls, single stroke patterns, and flares. The entire selection is in common time, and there are no sticking suggestions indicated, giving the performer the freedom to employ either concert or rudimental sticking patterns. The composer makes no suggestion on whether the tenor drum is to be played with snare drum sticks or with mallets. The print is quite clear and Kendor has printed a third page to avoid a page turn, and has included a part for each player. The publisher has given the duet a grade of 2 and one-half, which is quite realistic. The rhythmic dialogue between the two players makes this composition an excellent teaching source.
