This reissue of a 1987 composition for percussion septet is scored for vibraphone, marimba/bells, chimes/two stainless-steel bowls/large suspended cymbal, snare drum/medium suspended cymbal/large gong, four tom-toms/gong/two pieces of electrical tubing, bass drum/small suspended cymbal/clock chime, and four timpani. Although listed as a grade V composition, there are few passages in this contemporary sounding, eclectic 5:30-minute composition that would challenge any percussionist beyond a grade IV level. The timpani part is one of the more challenging parts. Consequently, this ensemble is appropriate for the mature high school percussion ensemble or younger undergraduate college percussion ensemble. | This reissue of a 1987 composition for percussion septet is scored for vibraphone, marimba/bells, chimes/two stainless-steel bowls/large suspended cymbal, snare drum/medium suspended cymbal/large gong, four tom-toms/gong/two pieces of electrical tubing, bass drum/small suspended cymbal/clock chime, and four timpani.
