Tom Ouderits followed in the footsteps of his father when he started his musical training at the Academy in Mol at quite an early age. His teacher was Chris Lembrechts, now his colleague, as he became a teacher at the Academy himself.

As a child being raised in a musical nest, he particularly enjoyed making and recording his very own compositions using acoustic instruments and synthesizers. Later on he studied percussion and chamber music at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven.

Together with Evert Van Eynde they formed Pulse Percussion Trio performing in Belgium as well as the Netherlands (Bozar in Brussels, Ghent Festival of Flanders, Grachtenfestival and the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Pukkelpop 2019,…). Pulse Percussion Trio was awarded several prizes including the first prize at the Tornea Internazionale de Musica in Verona (Italy) as well as the audience award at the International Concours for Chamber Music in Almere (the Netherlands).

Tom is also regularly active as a session percussionist and collaborated on various film scores e.g. Marsupilami by Bruno Coulais, The Death of Stalin by Christopher Willis, Decision to Leave by Jo Yeong-wook and In the Land of Saints and Sinners by Diego Baldenweg. He also played the vibraphone on the EP Songs Without Words by Anne Chmelewsky. [1] [2]
