Description
This concert piece is based on the folk music from the Slavic countries. Part one(Marziale) is based on the proud character and patriotism of their people. Part two depicts a fiery Cossack squat dance. Part three is a czardas with the characteristic melancholic beginning which develops into a raging ending. The piece is aimed at ensembles with a few mallet percussion players and a large battery percussion and auxiliary percussion line-up.
