Description
THE LION"S ROAR is a collaboration between faculty, alumni and current students of the Texas A&M University-Commerce Department of Music. Conceived and curated by Dr. Brian Zator, ten alumni were commissioned to compose solo works for marimba, which were in turn performed and recorded by seven current students and three faculty members.
Eleven Pieces in total are represented, with a wide variety of techniques, sounds, styles and difficulty levels, making the collection a perfect addition to any percussionist's library. Reflecting the vastly differing musical backgrounds and experiences with each piece.
This project was funded by the College of Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts through a Research and Creative Activities grant. All Proceeds will go directly to the A&M-Commerce Percussion Studio Excellence Fund to support scholarships, guest artist, equipment and more. A special thanks goes to Louis Raymond-Lolker and Alex Howley for serving as Project Managers throughout the creation of the collection.
