Program Notes

David Eyler's Tricastourine is a multi-percussion solo that might win the award for 'smallest setup ever'. Written for triangle, tambourine, hand-held castanets and machine castanets, you can carry around the entire piece in a backpack. This piece is a great excuse for students to really work on their accessory technique. The tambourine part requires shake rolls, thumb rolls, and knee-fist technique, while the castanet part also needs rolls.
