Description
High up in the bell tower, hidden in the carillon, live a number of wooden puppets. When the carillon starts playing, the puppets come to life... The emperor, not always in a good mood, announces that a dance party is being held. All the dolls dance to their heart's content. The beautiful princess enchants everyone with her beautiful appearance and dance. The Harlequin desperately wants to dance with her, but he can't do it very well. He makes an attempt but is laughed at by everyone. In the end they try to dance together, and this seems to work... When the Emperor hears that the Harlequin has danced with the Princess, he is furious. With a sword, he attacks the Harlequin in a fight and kills him. The Princess is inconsolable, but fortunately still has the memory of a beautiful dance...
