The present exercises for cymbals are intended to help this wonderful orchestral instrument to gain more attention in your studies.
The preliminary exercises and 10 etudes are specially tailored to the requirements of the cymbal player in the symphony orchestra and often refer to characteristic passages of the current orchestral literature. The specified tempi are also coordinated with this and must therefore be adhered to as precisely as possible. The given note values are also to be taken literally. That means: noted pause = muting.[1]
