The theme of the lullaby is very present in the poetry of FG Lorca, himself having imbued the "infantile girls", popular Spanish melodies of the provinces of Galicia, Andalusia or Asturias.

The "Berceuse au miroir dormant" is a mysterious poem, sibylline, narcissistic, evoking infinite reflections. The polyphonic treatment of voices attempts to translate these unfathomable and tragic echoes, chanted by percussion. <ref>http://www.edithcanatdechizy.com/catalogue.html#</ref>

Program Notes

I have been waiting for a long time for the opportunity to write music for dance. The choreographer Blanca Li and the Sequenza 9.3 vocal ensemble directed by Catherine Simonpietri give me the opportunity today through this exciting project on the theme of love.

This show, with six dancers, eight mixed voices and a percussionist playing mostly skins, highlights several parameters that are at the root of the music: voice, percussion and dance, the ratio of voice and body, that of voice and percussion, the rhythm of percussion with dance, sometimes with a reversal of roles: dancers sing, singers dance.

This interpenetration of the body and the voice was the result of a close collaboration between Blanca and me during improvisation sessions where I tried to interpret the language of the body to restore it in a music combining rhythms and vocal games, playing with the phonetics of words from several languages: English, French, Spanish, Russian, Italian, etc., the text borrowed from several sources thus leaving plenty of room for music and dance.
