Program Notes

Immortal Dream by Nathan Daughtrey is a 7 player keyboard ensemble based on the verse of a traditional Irish ballad "Old Skibereen," a song full of tragedy and passion, depicting the Irish famine of 1846-47. This piece really tells a story, and has a touch of traditional Irish music. It also utilizing important percussive skills like a wide range of dynamics, as well as double stops and complex rhythms.
